Privacy Policy
1. Overview
RogerThat is a macOS clipboard history application that helps users store, search, organize, copy, mask, and manage clipboard text locally on their Mac.
RogerThat is designed as a local-first utility. Clipboard history is stored on the user's device and is not uploaded to the developer, external servers, advertising networks, analytics providers, or third-party data processors by the app.
2. Information RogerThat Stores
RogerThat stores clipboard text that the user copies while clipboard monitoring is enabled. This may include text copied from other applications, websites, documents, terminals, code editors, messages, notes, or other user workflows.
Clipboard history entries may include:
- Clipboard text content
- Date and time when the clipboard item was captured
- Whether an item has been marked as sensitive
- Application settings selected by the user, such as theme, retention period, preview settings, and clipboard capture settings
RogerThat does not intentionally collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, account identifiers, precise location, contacts, photos, payment data, health data, browsing history, advertising identifiers, or analytics data.
However, because RogerThat stores clipboard text, users should understand that copied text may contain personal, confidential, sensitive, or private information depending on what the user copies.
3. Clipboard History Storage
RogerThat stores clipboard history locally on the user's Mac.
For the current version, clipboard history is stored in a local JSON file inside the user's Application Support directory.
RogerThat does not transmit clipboard history to the developer or to any external service.
4. Sensitive Items and Masking
RogerThat allows users to mark clipboard items as sensitive. Sensitive items are visually masked in the app interface so the content is not casually visible in the Explorer or Menu Bar preview.
Sensitive masking is a visual privacy feature. It does not mean the stored clipboard content is encrypted on disk unless encryption is separately implemented in a future version.
Users should avoid storing highly sensitive information in clipboard history unless they are comfortable with that information being stored locally on their Mac.
5. Data Collection and Sharing
RogerThat does not collect user data for developer access.
RogerThat does not:
- Upload clipboard history to the developer
- Share clipboard data with third parties
- Sell user data
- Use advertising SDKs
- Use third-party analytics SDKs
- Track users across apps or websites
- Create user profiles
- Use clipboard content for advertising, marketing, or behavioral tracking
6. Third-Party Services
RogerThat does not currently use third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, cloud sync, or data processing services.
If future versions add optional third-party services, this Privacy Policy will be updated before those services are used.
7. User Control and Data Deletion
Users control their clipboard history inside RogerThat. Users can:
- Delete individual clipboard items
- Delete selected clipboard items
- Clear today's clipboard history
- Clear all clipboard history
- Change the data retention period
- Export clipboard history
- Import clipboard history
- Mark items as sensitive or unmask them
When a user deletes clipboard history inside RogerThat, the deleted records are removed from the app's local storage file. Deleted data may still exist in system backups, disk snapshots, exported backup files, or other copies created outside RogerThat.
8. Data Retention
RogerThat retains clipboard history according to the retention period selected by the user in Settings.
When the retention period expires for a clipboard item, RogerThat may remove that item from active clipboard history during normal cleanup.
Users may also manually delete clipboard history at any time.
9. Security
RogerThat stores clipboard history locally on the user's Mac. The app relies on macOS user account protections, file system permissions, and the user's device security settings.
Users are encouraged to protect their Mac with a strong password, FileVault disk encryption, and appropriate device security settings.
RogerThat does not guarantee that locally stored clipboard history is protected from someone who has access to the user's Mac, user account, backups, or exported files.
10. Children's Privacy
RogerThat is a productivity utility and is not designed for children. RogerThat does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. International Users
RogerThat stores clipboard history locally on the user's device. The developer does not operate a server-side clipboard history service for this app.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in the app, storage architecture, privacy practices, or legal requirements.
When material changes are made, the updated Privacy Policy will be made available through the app, the developer's website, or the App Store listing.
